HEAVENLY FATHER, you are always more ready to hear than we are to pray.  Please keep us faithful in praying for all who need your special care.

Please pray for:

†  for Julie Wallis now recovering at home after her fall.

†  for Lucy Dexter-Elisha also now recovering at home after a fall, but awaiting further treatment.

†  for Sheila Alderman recovering at home after a spell in Wokingham Hospital.

†  for all those who are ill or recovering from surgery, and for those who mourn.

†  for everyone preparing for and taking exams over the next few weeks.

Bible Study Group
The Bible study group continues on 2nd & 4th in June and July.

The study is a series on Prayer which I am certain will be of value to us all. Please let me know if you are interested and I will let you have a programme.

PARISH QUIET DAY
THERE IS a leaflet giving further information about the Parish Quiet Day, on Saturday 3rd July, at the back of the church. If you would like to come, please would you let Nigel Herriott know a.s.a.p. and give him the £5 per person cost for the day to secure your place.  We are able to take a maximum of 25 people and will hold all the places for St. Mary's congregation until the end of the month when we will offer any places that have not been taken up to the other Loddon Reach parishes. Nigel's contact details: Tel: 0118 962 7189 Mob: 07525 867012 email: nigel [ at ] herriott.net .
ST MARY'S ANNUAL CHURCH FETE - 11th September 2010
THIS IS to be held on 11th September from 10am-2.00pm on School Green.  Please put the date in your diary and invite your friends and family!  Planning is getting underway and we hope to have the usual stalls. We are also looking for other ideas.  If you are prepared to either repeat the stall you did last year, want to help but would prefer another stall, or have any fresh ideas for a stall or attraction please let us know.  Please let us know now so that we can do better with our forward planning.  Maurice  9883363, saringer@btinternet.com;  Jill  988 2158, jillgrindal@hotmail.com;  Barbara  Farrow  988 3743,  farrowbk@aol.com
PARISH VISITING
WE ARE intending to visit all of the houses in the estates that have been built in recent years in the parish during some evenings in June.  I will be contacting those who have been involved with such visits in the past directly, but I would welcome other members who might be interested in joining in on one or more evenings. Visiting the parish in this way has been an enjoyable experience and is a chance to build bridges between those who attend church activities and those who don't. Please do have a word with me directly or give me a ring (988 8642) and I will try to answer any questions.
Chris Leslie.
CIRDIC APPEAL
CIRDIC WOULD be very grateful for any donations of the following items:-  Tins of steak, chicken, chicken curry, minced beef, Irish stew, chilli con carne, meat pies, beef curry, soup, luncheon meat, ham, sponge puddings and peas.
Also: instant mash, salad cream, mustard, sugar, coffee, and tomato ketchup; shaving foam, handwash, sanitising gel, soap powder, tampons and cotton dish cloths.  Money, men's socks and underwear are always needed.
Please note that all other items are well stocked at the moment.
There will be a basket in the Church for the next two weeks for any donated items, or if preferred to 16 Milsom Close.  Thank you, Brenda Woods
BAPTISM VISITS
WE ARE planning to put together a team to do baptism follow-up visiting.  Training will be provided, and it is envisaged that the visiting will be done in pairs.  The object of the exercise will be to encourage and support the parents of the newly baptised.  There is good evidence that this encourages parents to join the church.  Would anyone interested in this important work please let Maurice, Chris, or Jean Leslie know
PCC
THE NEXT meeting of St Mary's PCC is on Thursday, 17th June.
Parish Walk
Another walk is planned for Saturday 24th July.  More details to follow.
