HEAVENLY FATHER, you are always more ready to hear than we are to pray.  Please keep us faithful in praying for all who need your special care.
Please pray for:
† Pray for the continuing working out of the ideas from the Vision Day
† the youth group YAMS is starting its Autumn programme.  We ask for God's blessing on our times together, the leaders:  Nigel, Mike and Pauline and for new members to come and join us
†  all those known to us who are ill, in pain or in distress.

ORGANIST & MUSICAL DIRECTOR NEEDED AT ST MARY'S SHINFIELD
We recognise the crucial part that music plays in worship and are seeking to appoint an organist, choirmaster/mistress and musical director with a passion for church music across the whole spectrum from classical anthems to modern worship songs.  Our worship pattern embraces Common Worship Eucharist, Prayer Book Evensong, a family service, and a morning worship service currently being developed - various formats are being tried.

The organ was originally a Walker - some original pipe work remains -
which had a make over by Davies of Northampton in the 60s.  It is an eccentric instrument, but in the hands of a competent musician makes a decent sound.  The PCC knows that it will need replacing in a better position in the medium future.

The Church also has a clavinova, and a team of musicians who play at some services.

St Mary's is part of a Team Ministry and there is increasing musical co-operation between the four churches and choirs.
There are seven services per month: four at 10.00am and three at 6.30pm; more at festivals with a deputy available.  Occasional weddings and funerals.

Playing commitment negotiable.  RSCM rates (plus fees).

We would be prepared to offer help with the cost of additional training for a suitable candidate.

Enquires to Rev Maurice Stanton-Saringer 0118 988 3363 or maurice[at]loddonreach.org.uk
