Songs of Praise at St Michael’s

COME AND sing all your favourite hymns at our 'Songs of Praise' service which usually takes place on the first Sunday of each month.

Next Songs of Praise is Sunday, 6th June.

INTERCESSIONS

• If you would like anyone included in the intercessions, please give their names to Béatrice or write them in the Intercessions book at the back of the church at Spencers Wood or Beech Hill.

Please pray for:

▪	For the thousands affected by the earthquake in Haiti

▪	Those who are ill or in need in our congregations.

Grant us, Lord God, a vision of our land as your love would make it:

- a land where the weak are protected, and none go hungry or poor;

- a land where different races and cultures live in tolerance and mutual respect;

- a land where peace is built with justice, and justice is guided by love.

And give us the inspiration and courage to build it, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

BEECH HILL FELLOWSHIP

THIS GROUP meets every Thursday from 10.30am to 12.30pm for Friendship, Bible study, prayer, discussion, coffee & biscuits, at Wagtails, Church Lane, Beech Hill. For more information, contact Penelope Carter on 988 3714.

CHILDREN'S CHOIR

The Children’s Choir at St Mary's, Beech Hill is open to all children aged 5 and over. Children from Spencers Wood and Swallowfield are welcome to join. Practices are held on Thursday evenings from 6.30pm - 7.15pm in the church. Please contact Béatrice if you have a child who would like to take part.

TINY TOTS

Tiny Tots meets every week at St Michael & All Angels, Spencers Wood on Tuesdays from 2.00 to 3.00pm.

Tiny Tots includes a short, informal service with a Bible story or talk using visual aids, songs and short prayers, a simple craft activity, refreshments for all and time for a chat.

Family Communion at Beech Hill

ON THIRD Sundays of each month at 10.30am, our Family Communion at St Mary’s, Beech Hill, is a relaxed service which combines traditional hymns played on our beautiful new organ, and modern worship led on the guitar by Will Anstice. Our junior choir sing during the communion and the children join ByteSize computer club during the first part of the service.

ART FOR ALL - Art Exhibition

An exhibition and sale of art, with art demonstrations throughout the day.

FRIDAY 7th May - 2pm to 5pm and

SATURDAY 8th May - 10am to 5pm

The new Caf'Active cafe will be open all day.

EVENING PRAYERS

EVENING PRAYERS at St Michael’s takes place every week from Tuesday to Friday at 6.15pm. Please come and join us in prayer.

HOME GROUP

A HOME group meets every Wednesday at 8pm, at 6 Magill Close. All welcome.

Beech Hill Choir

FOLLOWING THE SUCCESS of our junior choir, we now have a choir for adults in the village.

CRAFT'ACTIVE

The newly-renamed Knit1Pray1 - Craft'Active - will start on Thursday, 6th May at 7.45pm in the Caf'Active area.

There will be new shared projects to work on, or bring your own if you prefer.

VOLUNTEER CAR SERVICE

The new Shinfield volunteer car service, based in the gallery of Caf'Active, is now up and running. This car service is a door-to-door transport scheme run by volunteers for local people who have difficulty coping with public transport.

You can get details by telephoning 07519 953783 and Monday, Wednesday or Friday morning between 9.30am and 12.30pm.
